The late actor was due to travel to India this Saturday, for a kidney transplant but died yesterday Wednesday on his way to a private hospital in Festac, Lagos, where he carries out routine dialysis.
The Chairman, Lagos State Chapter of Actors Guild of Nigeria, Mr Don Pedro Aganbi, who confirmed the sad news said "He has gotten the visa to travel to India this Saturday. But only few days ago, he started having complications and had to give up this afternoon while he was being taken to the hospital for his routine dialysis."
Prince James Uche had required a total of N13.6m to pay his medical bills and travel to India for a kidney transplant and eye surgery. The money had already been raised with the assistance of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.
