The management of The University of Lagos has denied reports of the death of a Chemistry Education female student, identified as
Tope who was alleged to have slumped and died in the university's medical centre.

Reports had it that, Tope who was squatting at the Moremi Hall of the institution died shortly after she returned from an outing with a man alleged to be her "sugar daddy" at the weekend.

According to Punch, Reports say she went to a club and returned midnight Friday and shortly after, she started gasping for breathe .

She was then rushed to the institution medical centre. However, treatment was delayed and Tope eventually died while the other students who allowed her to squat are being threatened with eviction.

The management has however denied the report by saying that no student died at the medical centre.

A statement from the school's Deputy Registrar, Information unit, Mr Toyin Adebule, said Tope died before she was brought to the medical centre.

"I wish to state that the incident did not happen at the centre.

"Also, there is no report from the hall to the Dean of student Affairs on the incident.

"Therefore, no student has been evicted from the hall."
