82-year -old Ambassadorial Nominee Refuses To Recite National Anthem

Justice Sylvanus Nsofor (retd) an 82-year-old -non academic ambassador nominee was asked to recite the national anthem during his screening process,Wednesday before the senate committee which he refused to.


                                      Senator Gbenga Ashafa, the Lawmaker representing Lagos
                                      East Senatorial District had asked the nominee to recite the anthem.


"Why should I do so" Justice Nsofor asked in a shocking response .


The nominee was asked further question by the senate committee on Foreign Affairs which he responded to. He was then asked to take a bow and leave.

Justice Nsofor was born on March 17, 1935, in Oguta , Imo State. He was a judge of the High Court, Justice of the Court of Appeal and  lecturer in Law at the Holborn college of Law in London.
