Following reports of illegal exploration activities on forest reserves in Ondo State, the State Governnor, Rotimi Akeredolu has placed a ban on all logging activities in forest reserves in the 18 local government areas of the State.
The ban which is to take immediate effect was placed by the Governor on Friday in Akure. The governor also dissolved all task force on forestry and any other matters related to it.
Law enforcement agencies and forestry officials have been instructed to ensure strict adherence to the order.
Mr Toyin Akinkuotu, the state head of service said "The illegal activities has resulted in loss of huge revenue to the State."
